Why Revisit Knomee?
When clients first complete Knomee, it captures a snapshot of how they’re thinking and feeling at that moment in time.
But perspectives shift.
Sentiment, confidence, priorities, and goals can change due to:
How they’re feeling about their overall financial well-being
Life events
Professional transitions
Market conditions or broader world events
Personal growth or reflection
Even if nothing significant has changed, confirming that stability is just as valuable.
Revisiting Knomee allows for self-to-self comparison over time. Even when goals remain stable, how a client feels about their finances can shift. Capturing that sentiment provides important context for how they will engage in the conversation.
When to Refresh Knomee
Annual reviews are an ideal opportunity to revisit Knomee.
You might also consider refreshing Knomee when:
A client is approaching a major milestone
A Life Event has occurred
Market volatility or broader world events are impacting sentiment
You sense a shift in motivation or confidence
Because Knomee is intentionally lightweight, many advisors simply invite clients to revisit the full experience, and then see what has (or hasn’t) changed.
Recommended Flow for Annual Reviews
Step 1: Invite the Client to Refresh Knomee
Before the review meeting, invite the client to:
Update how they’re feeling about their financial well-being today
Revisit all five Adventures:
Financial Joy
Confidence
Outlook
Future You
Goals
Add new Goals and/or mark existing goals complete
Add any recent or upcoming Life Events
Capture any Questions that are on their mind
Encourage them to revisit all Adventures since it’s been a year. Many times, clients will respond differently and seeing what has shifted (or stayed consistent) is valuable for both of you.
Position this as:
“A chance to reflect on what’s changed — and what hasn’t — before we meet.”
If they’ve experienced or anticipate a Life Event, encourage them to add it.
If they have questions or uncertainty, ask them to add those in My Questions so you can address them directly.
This ensures your meeting reflects their current mindset, not last year’s.
Step 2: Review Changes Before the Meeting
When the client completes their refresh, review their Financial ID and consider:
Has their financial well-being sentiment shifted? Does how they feel align with what the plan shows?
What has changed?
What stayed consistent?
Are confidence levels higher or lower?
Have goals evolved?
Does their current sentiment align with their goals and confidence responses?
Do new Life Events or Questions add context?
Is there a pattern emerging?
Even small shifts can signal meaningful changes in mindset.
Sometimes the most important insight is not what changed in the plan — but how the client feels about it.
Step 3: Use the Review to Anchor the Conversation
During the meeting, consider opening with:
“You revisited Knomee ahead of today — what stood out to you?”
“I also noticed how you’re feeling about your financial well-being right now — can you tell me more about that?”
Then explore:
Areas where responses changed
Areas where they remained stable
New or updated goals (including goals marked complete)
Recently added Life Events
Client Questions that need clarity
You might also ask:
“Does this shift affect how you think about your plan?”
“Has your timeline changed at all?”
“Is there anything here that feels more urgent now?”
Let Knomee guide the conversation — but allow the client to lead the depth.
Recommended Flow for Check-Ins (Mid-Year or Event-Driven)
Not every refresh needs to be a full annual review.
For shorter check-ins — such as mid-year meetings or after a Life Event — you might take a more focused approach.
Option 1: Full Refresh
If there has been significant change (life, markets, career), invite them to revisit all Adventures.
Option 2: Targeted Refresh
If the check-in is more situational, you might suggest:
Updating how they’re feeling about their financial well-being today
Updating or marking Goals complete
Adding a Life Event
Adding a Question
Revisiting Confidence or Outlook
You can frame this as:
“Before we meet, I’d love for you to log in and update anything that feels different — especially goals, life changes, or questions you want to make sure we address.”
The financial well-being question is designed to capture a quick emotional temperature check. Over time, repeated responses can help you:
Spot trends in confidence
Identify emerging stress
Notice recovery after volatility
See how life events impact emotional stability
Even a single data point can shape how you open a meeting.
This keeps Knomee flexible while still maintaining continuity. For shorter check-ins, the sentiment update alone can provide meaningful context.
What If Nothing Has Changed?
That’s valuable too.
Stability signals confidence, alignment, and consistency in values and goals.
Unchanged responses deepen trust when acknowledged.
You can affirm this by saying:
“It’s helpful to see that your priorities remain steady — that tells us we’re aligned.”
Also keep in mind: even if goals remain stable, a shift in financial well-being sentiment can signal anxiety, optimism, or fatigue — all of which are important to address.
How Often Should Clients Revisit Knomee?
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all cadence. The right timing depends on your process and your clients.
Many advisors find it helpful to:
Refresh annually
Revisit after major Life Events
Revisit during periods of market or world uncertainty
Because the experience is short and reflective, refreshing periodically provides meaningful insight without burden.
Bringing It All Together
Knomee is most powerful when used as a living reflection tool — not a one-time exercise.
Used over time, it allows you to:
Track shifts in sentiment
Observe evolving confidence
Identify emerging goals
Surface life changes and questions
Deepen conversations with context
An annual review is not just about performance, it’s about perspective. Revisiting Knomee ensures your client’s plan reflects both.
